Google Maps Review Response Guide

Learn how to efficiently extract and respond to Google Maps reviews

Step 1: Track Your Companies
List companies and their contact information for keeping track

Create a spreadsheet or list to track the companies you manage, including their contact email (or phone number if email is not available). This helps you keep track of which businesses you've responded to.

Step 2: Access the Reviews
Using the account managing the company, search for the company and select read reviews

Search for your business on Google Maps using the Google account that manages the business. Click on the business listing and navigate to the reviews section.

Step 3: Filter Unanswered Reviews
Select "unanswered" reviews to focus on those that need responses

In the reviews section, filter to show only "Unanswered" reviews. This helps you focus on reviews that still need responses.

Step 4: Inspect the HTML
Right-click and select "Inspect" to access the page's HTML

Right-click anywhere on the review list and select "Inspect" from the context menu. This will open the browser's developer tools showing the HTML code.

Step 5: Copy the HTML Element
Select a div tag that contains the entire review list and copy it

In the developer tools, look for a div element that contains all the reviews. Right-click on this element and select "Copy" → "Copy element" or "Copy outerHTML".

Step 6: Paste into the Generator
Paste the copied HTML into the Review Response Generator

Open the Google Maps Review Response Generator tool. Paste the copied HTML into the "HTML Content" textarea. Add the business contact email and select the appropriate language. Then click "Process Reviews".
